A bus accident in Guatemala City early Monday resulted in the deaths of at least 51 people, with several survivors trapped at the scene. According to the city’s fire department, the bus veered off a highway bridge and fell approximately 20 meters into a ravine. The vehicle was traveling from the town of San Agustin Acasaguastlan into the capital on a busy route when the accident occurred at Puente Belice, a bridge that crosses over a road and creek. Authorities are conducting rescue operations and investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
