Chinese Premier Li Qiang has proposed the establishment of an international organization to coordinate the development and regulation of artificial intelligence. Speaking at the World AI Conference in Shanghai, Li emphasized the need to create a worldwide consensus as AI technologies rapidly advance. The call comes amid global competition, especially between the US and China, and concerns over AI governance and chip supply. More than 800 companies showcased AI innovations at the conference, including major tech players and startups.
