Type: Fact Sheet
President Trump and U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced a comprehensive trade agreement. It phases out the 2.5 percent U.S. tariff on new British‑built cars over three years and removes the 10 percent U.K. duty on used American vehicles in the same timeframe. The deal immediately eliminates U.K. duties on U.S. beef and gradually cuts ethanol tariffs from 20 percent to 5 percent by 2027. It also raises the “regional value content” requirement for tariff‑free vehicles to 60 percent North American or U.K. parts and includes strong protections for digital trade and streamlined financial‑services licensing in London.
