Pope Leo XIV, the first American-born pope in history, celebrated his inaugural Mass in the Sistine Chapel, less than 24 hours after his election. In his homily, he emphasized the importance of cultivating a personal relationship with Christ, stating, “Without faith, life lacks meaning.” He also called for the Church to be a beacon of light in the world’s “dark nights” and urged clergy to “make oneself small” to glorify Christ.
